Member of the Week - June 15 |
For summer 2009, each Monday we will feature a different member of our drum corps. It's a chance for our fans to get a glimpse behind the mystique of the red and black uniform and get to know some of our members on a more personal basis.
Name: Jackie Stine Age: 19 Hometown: Haverhill, MA Section: Guard Marching Experience: St. John's Beverly Colorguard 04-07, Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps 06 & 07, Boston Crusaders 08-?? Facebook or Twitter?: Facebook Favorite meal on tour: hot dogs, chips and watermelon Most Inspirational BAC member: My mom, Patty (Marshall) Stine. My mom marched in the corps and taught for years and is a member of the Hall of Fame. She is inspirational because she stuck with the corps through some very difficult years and her dedication has always remained strong. She brought me up to love the corps and I told her once that I would march here and I'm very happy that i fullfilled that promise and that she can now watch me perform. Most Important item taken on tour: Knee Brace!!! Why am I marching Crusaders?: My family has marched in the corps back in the 70's and 80's and they brought around shows when I was little. Since they brought me around shows, I had always been intrigued with the corps, the shows, the parking lot culture, and the way the corps is run. The Crusaders have been a family to my parents and relatives and I'm so happy that I get my turn to be a part of that family. What will I be doing in 5 years?: In 5 years, I hope to be graduating from a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program and working on finding a job. I would also love to remain with the Crusader family in a volunteer capacity. 5 songs you can't live without (on a desert island or on the bus at night): Breathe-Anna Nalick, Fix You-Coldplay, American Baby-Dave Matthews Band, Hotel California-The Eagles, Fire of Eternal Glory First thing I will do when tour is over: Go swimming, sleep, and take a long shower |
