Bevilacqua Inducted into DCI Hall of Fame |
Former Crusaders Director George Bevilacqua will be
inducted to the DCI Hall of Fame this summer.
Bevilacqua was the Director of the corps from 1971-1980 and is one of the "Founding Fathers" of DCI. George's devotion to the corps, his leadership, and his steadfastness held the corps together through DCI's early years and one of the more turbulent times in Crusader history. He held the corps together through sheer determination and will.
As Director, George instilled great discipline and determination in the membership of the Crusaders. Jim Watts, who was drum major for the corps for four years and went on to become an instructor, manager, and member of the Crusaders Board of Directors described the Boston Crusaders of Bevilacqua's era: "We were self confident, proud, passionate and determined, and remain that way today. Had I not been a Boston Crusader during the tutelage of George Bevilaqua I would be a much different person today."
George was inducted into the Boston Crusaders Hall of Fame in 2008. Read more about George and the rest of DCI's class of 2012 at dci.org |
