2012 Percussion Auditions |
The Percussion Program Audition Overview is now available to all 2012 Applicants in CorpsData. This will give
percussion candidates an idea of what the November and December auditions will entail. It's important to note that there are no specific exercises percussionists are required to learn in advance, but preparation is still essential.
In addition, for battery candidates, we're doing something new:
Music from the first production of last year's show, "Attack on the Rue Plumet" is available to all battery candidates in CorpsData. Snare, Tenor and Bass drummers will have access to both the sheet music and an .mp3 of the corps finals week performance!
"We thought this would be a great way for interested candidates to get a feel for what's it's like to play in the Boston Crusaders drumline," said Percussion Caption Head and Arranger Ellis Hampton. "They can learn the music and play along with the recording as part of their preparation for 2012. It's important to note that candidates will not be evaluated on this music, it is just for practice purposes. What we really want is for them to focus on fundamentals and to not be intimidated by a 40 page technique packet."
