After 10 years of serving as the brass arranger for the Crusaders,
the last 4 of which were spent as Program Coordinator, Jay Kennedy is stepping away from his position(s) with the corps. Commenting on his departure, Kennedy said, "Although I am stepping back from an active role with the corps, I know I won't be far from the Crusaders or the drum corps activity."
"Ten years ago, we were fortunate enough to entice Jay away from the DCI judging community, and since then, his contributions to the Crusaders have been invaluable," said Executive Director Tom Spataro."Over the past 4 years Jay has established a style and approach to programming which will be carried on by the team that he has helped develop. Although we will miss Jay, his proximity to Boston [the city and the corps] means he'll be able to be involved in some of our local programs including Mass Bay Music Festivals and other offerings as his schedule allows, of course.”
Kennedy is currently the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Vice Provost at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Over the past three years, he has also been instrumental in coordinating the establishment of Berklee's first international campus in Valencia,Spain.
The entire Boston Crusaders family wishes Jay the best of luck and a heartfelt congratulations on all his accomplishments during his tenure with the corps. |
