Crusaders donate to Blue Devils
On August 16, just three days after DCI World Championships, members of the Crusaders met with representatives from the Randolph High School Marching Blue Devils to go 'shopping.'  The Randolph High School music program is in a growth stage and like many programs around the country, lacks essential funding.  Going through old uniform parts in storage, the Crusaders were able to piece together enough shakos, plumes, and black uniform pants to outfit the entire Blue Devil band for the upcoming season.  In addition, the Crusaders were able to donate various other smaller pieces of equipment.  "Anything to help out," said Executive Director Tom Spataro. "The fate of the drum corps activity is forever intertwined with the strength and longevity of scholastic music programs around the country.  Any time we can help strengthen our local programs, it's good for all of us."

Spataro was invited to the Randolph School Committe meeting on August 25 where he and the Crusaders were presented with a certificate of recognition from the Superintendent of Schools and the Randolph School Committee.   In addition, as a sign of thanks, the Randolph Music Program gave Spataro and Karen Dillard, Crusaders Board Representative, some Blue Devil apparel and assorted other goodies.
