Old School Challenge Wrapup |
Below is a note from Crusaders Executive Director Tom Spataro:
Well, the Old School Challenge Rematch is over. We raised a grand total of $32,035 in just ten days!!! Â Thank you to all who participated--obviously we hoped to win, and I had no intention of donning a Scouts shirt last night, but our friends at Madison edged us out this year. Again, in just 10 days, our two organizations were able to raise a record-breaking total of over $70,000 thanks to the goodwill and kindness of our alumni, friends, and fans. That is truly incredible and we thank you!
I've said this before, but what Madison and Boston have built is special. I enjoy our friendly rivalry, and I wore that green shirt last night in recognition of the great things our two organizations are capable of. I challenge any other corps in DCI to duplicate the results of the 2011 Old School Challenge. No one group can do it alone--our combined efforts make each corps stronger. This is a lesson that hearkens back to the founding of DCI and something we can all keep in mind as we look to the future of the activity.
Thank you once again to all, both Madison and Boston, who generously gave in this campaign to support our corps. I'll be wearing Red and Black for the rest of the season, but I will smile when I look at my new Madison Scouts shirt.
