The camp season is over and the summer officially begins on May 28. Here's a look
back at the May Camp, only three weeks ago:
The May Camp was a flurry of activity. As the corps pepared for their Saturday night preview performance, the Live Learning Event participants shared a day with the Crusaders. Participants were not merely observers as the corps rehearsed--they stood in the hornline, in the drumline, and in the flag block with current Crusaders and went through the same exercises.
The Crusaders summer show was complete by April Camp, enabling the corps to focus on tweaking the production for Saturday night's performance as well as spending more time with the LLE participants. Saturday's performance in the stadium at Lakewood Ranch was a great time for all. Special guests Manatee County Independent performed their indoor show to warm up the crowd. LLE participants performed with the corps in each section's feature, and then joined the audience for the main event.
MC's by Wayne Dillon, the corps went through some warmup and encore material, and performed their 2011 production, Revolution to an enthusiastic crowd of over 300 people. Following the performance, friends and family joined the corps volunteers, staff and admin for a celebratory dinner before getting back to work.
