Hall of Fame Announcement 2011 |
The Boston Crusaders are very excited to announce the 2011 class of the Crusader Hall of Fame.
This year's inductees are:
Ed McCabe - member of Most Precious Blood, Hyde Park, and Boston Crusaders
Jack LaSelva - member of Valiants, Crusaders, and Sr Corps Drum Major from day one
Ricky Woodall - ardent support of the corps for over 30 years, Board Member
And announcing the recipient of the 2011 Joe Ricci Volunteer of the Year:
Karen Dillard
Karen Dillard began her drum corps career in 1976 with the Annunciators and Cavalliers from Somerville, MA. She marched with North Star in 1980, 81 & 82, and finished her marching career with Blessed Sacrament Winter Guard.
Since returning to Massachusetts in 2000, Karen has been employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Executive Office for Administration and Finance. Previously, Karen was employed in the Garden Grove Unified School District in Garden Grove, California in the Office of Child Welfare and Attendance. Karen has a degree in management, and holds a certificate as a paralegal.
Karen is in her 7th year as a member of the Boston Crusaders’ Board of Directors. She has been involved in fundraising for the Crusaders over the years, and is currently the event chair for both Crusader Classic Golf Tournaments, and event co-chair for each of the three shows the Crusaders are producing this summer! In addition, Karen is one of the volunteer coordinators for both winter and summer volunteers, as well as the head of Team Gillette. She also works closely with the corps operations team to make sure the fleet is ready to go every year. Karen wears many hats for the Crusaders, and keeps taking on more responsibilities every day! True to the man this award was named after, Karen never marched in the corps, but gives her heart and soul to the organization, and we are better for it!
