Mass Bay Kicks off 2011 Season |
After months of planning, Mass Bay Music Festivals is gearing up for
the first event of the spring 2011 festival season. This year’s events will start at Woburn High School on Friday, May 6 and will conclude with the last session at Burlington High School on Friday, May 27.
Students and teachers from all over Eastern Massachusetts will join us to take part in the learning, the music appreciation, and the fun. This year’s participants represent a wide range of scholastic music programs including bands, orchestras and a variety of choirs from the elementary, middle and high school levels. At the conclusion of the festival, participants will also be enjoying area attraction favorites like Canobie Lake Amusement Park, Fenway Park Tours, and Mass Bay customized event packages.
Mass Bay is also delighted to work with master class teachers and judges with rich backgrounds in music education, music performance, and adjudication in the performing arts. Participating students and teachers alike will be sure to benefit from the years of experience our master class teachers and judges have as professional musicians, drum corps hall of fame members, composers, conductors, clinicians, award winning music directors and more.
Kimberly Bolduc, Mass Bay Music Festivals Events Director is proud to report significant growth in 2011. “We are so proud to offer a truly unique event at Mass Bay,” said Bolduc. “With a significant increase in participating student numbers from last year, we have quadrupled our enrollment. wW are excited for so many people to see what we have to offer.” Bolduc continued, “Our emphasis on the student experience, love of music, and personalization drive our planning and operation of these events and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be able to share these values with our students, teachers, and personnel this month.”
Among many other factors, the key to a successful event is the right location. Mass Bay would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful music departments and administration of Woburn and Burlington for their hospitality and for all their help in the planning process as this year’s festival host sites. Mass Bay is excited to not only offer a great experience for all, but to also help put a spotlight on these two great programs and their facilities.
