February Camp
With the month of February over, the Crusaders are only three months away from move-in, where the whole corps will spend the better part of a month putting the finishing touches on the 2011 production.  This year, the corps will return once again to the New Hampton School in New Hampton, NH for their weeks of preparation.

Meanwhile, in Lakewood Ranch...

The most noteworthy part of the February camp by far was the arrival of 80 new Jupiter Quantum Brass instruments to the corps.  The Christmas-like atmosphere was evident for both staff and members as they unwrapped their new 'toys.'  "The quality of the instruments and the service we've already seen from our new friends at KHS America is truly outstanding, and I know our fans will like what they hear," said Executive Director Tom Spataro.

As promised, arranger Jay Kennedy delivered another 2 minutes of music to the corps the week prior to camp.  Sunday afternoon's ensemble block saw the brass and percussion sections playing through over 7 minutes of show music to a small crowd of parents and friends.  Once again taking advantage of the same weather that allows the Red Sox to train in Florida, the corps spent much of the weekend outside marching and playing.

March Camp is only in a few weeks.  A special highlight at the March Camp, the Crusaders percussion section will be performing in exhibition at Lakewood Ranch during the FFCC indoor show hosted by LRHS on March 19.
