2011 Audition Information |
The long wait of the “off-season” is finally over!
The Boston Crusaders are pleased to announce 2011 audition dates and locations.
Round One auditions, which have already started with video submissions, will take place in three locations, beginning with a one-day audition in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas on November 20. The following day, November 21, will be the one-day audition in Lynn, Massachusetts. Both of these events will run from 9:30-4:30.
The conclusion of Round One auditions will take place December 3-5, at Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL. According to Crusaders Executive Director Tom Spataro, “We chose the December date this year for a number of reasons, but the most compelling reason is probably economics. We have many prospective members fly in for our auditions, and moving the first camp off of the busiest travel weekend of the year will be both cost and time-efficient, for the Crusaders and for the families we serve. Many of our college-aged students have football games Thanksgiving weekend as well, and we want to give them the chance to fulfill their scholastic commitments too. The bottom line-- we want to make it easier, not harder, to participate in the drum corps activity.”
This is the Crusaders second year in partnership with Lakewood Ranch High School and the LRHS Mustang Marching Band. Audition requirements and basic materials as well as video audition procedures are available to all who complete a preliminary application in the Crusaders Corps Hall (CorpsData).
