Through our unique blend of performance, education and evaluation our mission is to INSPIRE both artistic and individual growth for all our participants.
The Boston Crusaders experience combines an intensive program of music education and performance training, with equal emphasis on the development of:
- teamwork skills
- self-discipline
- and personal responsibility
Our professional instructional staff consists of many of the finest music educators in the country, some of whom are alumni of the corps.
The educational staff works extensively with our members teaching:
- advanced technique in brass and percussion performance
- choreography
- marching & visual coordination
We offer our members the chance to entertain vast audiences with a unique style of music, movement and showmanship. As an activity where championships may be won or lost by a tenth of a point, it also requires the stamina and precision of highly competitive team sports. Equally, if not more important, are the deep lasting friendships formed within the corps and the experience of true camaraderie. Differences in race, religion, ethnicity and financial status are unimportant.
Giving your best means more than being gifted. Many former members of the Crusaders have obtained their degrees in music and are now teaching in our school systems, while others are writing and performing professionally. The ultimate goal of the program, however, is the development of our members into morally and socially conscious adults.
