Camps
As soon as the weather cools off the Boston Crusaders start preparing for summer. Our winter and spring rehearsal schedule includes monthly weekend-long camps during which members spend an intense weekend rehearsing, learning the show, and getting to know one another and the corps itself.

CURRENT SEASON (2012)

Round ONE

  • Nov. 19 - Lynn Vocational Technical Institue, Lynn, MA - 9AM - 4PM (Registration starts at 8AM)
  • Nov. 20 - Guyer HS, Denton, TX - 9AM - 4PM (Registration starts at 8AM)
  • Nov. 25-27 - Lakewood Ranch, HS, Bradenton, FL (Registration begins at 6PM Friday - Dismissal will be at 4PM Sunday)

When flying to Florida for all full weekend camps, participants may choose to arrive at either Sarasota or Tampa airports.  Lakewood Ranch is 1 hour away from the Tampa airport.  Keep this in mind when booking flights.

All brass and percussion candidates must attend only one of the above mentioned dates (or submit a video audition) and be prepared to attend Round Two of the audition process

Round Two and subsequent camps (ALL Full weekend camps are held at lakewood ranch high school)

  • Dec. 16 - 18
  • Jan. 20 - 22
  • Feb. 17 - 19
  • Mar. 30 - Apr 1
  • Apr. 20-22 - All Guard (plus local brass)
  • May 4 - 6 - All Sections

Move-in (or pre-tour) will begin on either May 26 or May 18 depending on the Crusaders summer touring schedule and what section you are in.

Our policy as a drum corps is that school performances on your principal instrument or equipment are priorities. However, if you are given a performance spot, your attendance at all camps is critical to the success of the organization. Missing all or any part of a camp is only permitted in special cases which must be approved by the Corps Director and your Caption Head at least one week prior to the first day of the camp. You are also expected to make every reasonable effort to attend any part of a rehearsal that does not conflict with an approved event.

Camp absences, whether excused or unexcused, may be grounds for removal from performing status, either temporarily or permanently.

Below is a typical schedule for a full camp weekend for your reference.
