The Crusaders’ mission is to provide its members an opportunity to reach their highest potential, both as a person and an artist. While providing a healthy balance between education and competition, the Crusaders seek to constantly challenge members to excel every day through a dynamic and unique combination of artistic, athletic, and life goals our members will not find elsewhere.
As a nonprofit organization, Boston Crusaders seeks to develop leadership and personal growth for young adults ages 15 to 21.
Our group consists of 150 young adults who devote their entire summer to creating a highly polished, precise, musical pageantry production performed in a football stadium.
A modern open class drum corps consists of approximately:
- 80 brass players
- 30 percussionists
- 40 color guard
The corps:
- spends up to nine weeks touring
- travels over 12,000 miles by bus
- rehearses five to six hours daily
- appears in more than 40 competitions and exhibitions (throughout the United States and Canada) before a combined audience of over 300,000 fans
